Mother's tears

It's been a long day. I walk into our home to find my wife in tears. I used to ask what is wrong. The reply would often be. Nothing, I have been talking to one of our children, and am so happy.

Only a mother would understand that when a mother cries, she may be hurting, rejoicing, praying, mad at the kids, missing the kids, glad to be with the kids. (Even though our 4 children are now adults, for my wife they are still her kids.)

Alexis (my wife) has had a great mother's day, we have prayed for our astray children, laughed with the two who are close to us. Her love for all them is still strong and she still cries over each of them. I have a lovely wife and mother. She is incredible.

  1. After watching Compass today I was curious to know if there had been a resolution to the family split. As a mother I feel for Alexis as she, as well as your children are suffering, did you not say pride is a sin? You would rather be right and have the whole family disintegrate, a bully and fundamentalist, righteous in your lecturing, pious. Is it working for you? have you considered the option of respecting the opinion held by others in your family whether you agree or not. Have you ever thought to encourage your children to follow their dreams without guilt and shame because it is not what you would choose for yourself? Did you forget that children are a gift and they are here to teach us?A little praise goes a long way, watch them flourish and be happy. Spirituality engenders love and kindness, it is a personal relationship and we each need to find our own way, you cannot shove it down others throats and not expect them to choke. Allah, Buddha, Krishna and a tattoo are not satan but another word for the one God.For 22 years my husband has been in Australia, until today he could not understand why Christians are turning away from churches,he was shocked at the manipulation by you of religion to control those closest to you.For self preservation your children need to leave, there seems to be favouritism for those who study theology over those who are artists, and those who choose heathens as partners and live in sin. You shape your children when they are young and then you let them use their wings, not lock them in a cage. I appeal to you to Chill Out, for the happiness and you and your family.
